Benefits of Windows Autopilot
If you employ staff, you’ll be all too familiar with the process of deploying new devices every time a new employee joins your organisation. Setting up new devices can be a time-consuming and painstaking task. However, there is an alternative: Microsoft Windows Autopilot.
Windows Autopilot is a feature within the Microsoft 365 suite. It’s a collection of technologies for setting up and pre-configuring new devices, getting them ready for productive use.
Benefits of Windows Autopilot
1. No re-imaging required
Smart configuration means you don’t need to manually install apps and drivers, manage infrastructure, and set policies whenever you have a new device. You complete the configuration once and associate it to an Autopilot profile in Intune. Those settings will then automatically apply to all devices under that profile.
2. Zero-touch self-deployment
Autopilot’s Self-Deploying mode enables new Windows devices pre-enrolled in the Windows Autopilot program to be ready straight off the shelf. If you have employees working remotely, you can ship their new devices directly to their location without configuring them first.
3. Increased productivity
Manual configuration takes up IT resources that could be deployed elsewhere. Windows Autopilot frees your team to work on other tasks and ensures new employees can be productive as soon as they join.
4. Customise out-of-the-box experience (OOBE)
Windows Autopilot allows you to customise the out-of-the-box experience in advance. It simplifies the setup process for the user, removing the need for manual input and ensuring the device is ready to use straight out of the box.
5. Easily repurpose devices
Windows Autopilot Reset means you can easily reset a device in preparation for a new user. Wiping a device is a simple and quick procedure that resets it to the original configuration.
6. Security and compliance
Autopilot’s Enrolment Status Page (ESP) provides information on a device’s configuration process. This means you can check that a device is fully configured, secured, and compliant with all requirements before allowing an employee to use it. Your IT team will be able to check the status of each device in real time and respond to any issues at any time.
In summary, Windows Autopilot provides a quick and reliable way to deploy Windows on your organisation’s devices, saving your IT department time and money. If you’d like to realise the benefits of an Autopilot in your business, please get in touch.
